The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for coordinating nursing care, including direct patient care, education, and transitions of care. The RN practices within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, ensuring high-quality care and communication across settings.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care for assigned patients.
Provide patient and family education.
Lead and mentor through preceptor roles and quality improvement initiatives.
Delegate tasks based on skill level, experience, and patient needs.
Participate in committees or projects as needed.

Education & Certification Requirements:

Education: Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate, associate, or diploma nursing program (ACEN or CCNE accredited).If the program was not ACEN/CCNE accredited, 1 year of RN experience (within the last 5 years) is required.
If graduated more than 2 years ago, 1 year of RN experience in an applicable care setting is required.


License: Active RN license as required by the state.
Certifications:BLS certification required.
Midwest region: BCLS (must not expire within 3 months of start date).
Additional specialty certifications as required by the work area.
